Buchanan Road gets upgrade
Morayfield's Buchanan Road is receiving a $7 million State Government upgrade, aiming to ease congestion and accommodate the region’s projected growth.
The Buchanan Road upgrade will focus on upgrades at locations where congestion is the most severe and on projects that will provide the greatest improvements - it will help people get home quicker and help reduce the cost of freight.
Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery called this funding “very welcome”, and thanked State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan, for his advocacy.
“Once built, this road upgrade will transform City of Moreton Bay, improving access to the existing community in Morayfield and opening up land for new housing including Waraba, to accommodate our rapidly growing population,” Cr Flannery said.
“It will also improve east-west connectivity to alleviate traffic congestion on the Bruce Highway.
“The project will truly benefit our residents now and into the future.”
The State Government funding comes in addition to a $7 million commitment from City of Moreton Bay.
