Going green doesn’t have to cost a cent

From 10am to 2pm on Saturday, 31 August, Caboolture Town Square, Caboolture Hub, and Caboolture Library will be packed with free workshops, hands-on activities, presentations, live entertainment, and much more to celebrate sustainability and eco-conscious living.

Mayor Peter Flannery said this year’s festival promises to be a fun, free, and memorable day out for the whole family.

“Going green as we grow is a major focus for City of Moreton Bay, and Eco Fest is a great way to learn about how you can lead a more sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle,” he said.

“It’s our third year of running this free event, and each year it gets bigger and better with plenty of entertainment and education for everyone.”

Cr Adam Hain (Div 3) added, “Eco Fest is an annual favourite where we paint the town green and provide a fun day out to learn about sustainable living.”

He expressed excitement about the new Eco Hub talk series featuring experts like Nathan Freeny from Swallowtail Nursery, Sussane Engelhard from Growing Made Simple, and bee ecologist Dr Kit Pendergast.

The festival will also feature the Recycleman Show, an interactive song and dance concert by Aunty Sharron, and a creepy crawly display by Bugs Ed.

Visitors can explore market stalls with eco-conscious goods or visit Caboolture Library for free tomato plant giveaways, fairy floss, and a reptile show.

The festival aims to be as environmentally friendly as possible, with compostable packaging and sustainable waste management.

Eco Fest is a FREE, familyfriendly event promoting sustainability.
